I am completely self directed in my craft. Growing up in Bucks County, Pa near the Henry Mercer Moravian Tile Works I knew since early childhood that I would create tiles one day. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture at Temple University. During this time I was fortunate to study Architecture in Rome and was attracted to the vast array of tiles and mosaics in my travels throughout Europe.

The fundamental techniques of this centuries old tile making process is essentially what attracts me to this medium. In an era of high tech everything, the basic simplicity of tile making is what I find so appealing.

My studio was set up over nine years ago. Like any good journey, mine began with books. I have obtained many books. They have been thoroughly studied and are the foundation of my craft. With a better understanding of the entire process of clay body, kiln firing temperatures and the final application of glazing, I began the ancient practice of creating tiles.
